Dave Mynard

As a TV producer Dave spent over ten years making programmes for the BBC, ITV and Channel 4. His early credits included live shows The Big Breakfast and Richard & Judy. He then went on to specialise in food and drink television, producing Saturday Kitchen and series producing The Hairy Bikers’ Food Tour of Britain. Inspired by the new and exciting opportunities in digital media Dave founded Stepping Stone in 2010 and has driven the company’s progress since. He is passionate about the storytelling process and loves getting hands on, directing shoots, overseeing edits and producing well crafted films.

 

In his spare time, Dave loves running which helps deal with the stress of life as a long-suffering Coventry City supporter.

Director of Production

James Cook

Jim spent a decade working on some of the UK’s most successful food and entertainment shows, including Great British Menu and Saturday Kitchen. He is a man of many talents and is skilled as a director, camera operator and producer. He has filmed all over the world both as a freelancer and during his time as a director at Stepping Stone and has worked on all manner of projects with over fifty different brands.

 

As a goalkeeper, wicket keeper, and rugby full-back, he is also very good at catching balls.

Co-Founder

Olly Smith

Olly is a hugely charismatic presenter and wine expert and was recently listed in Debrett’s 500 most influential people 2015. As well as appearing regularly on BBC1’s Saturday Kitchen he presents on BBC Radio 2 and has a wealth of TV and online experience encompassing wine and travel, including his recent Food Network series Jeni and Olly’s Wine Adventures. He is one of P&O Cruises’ Food Heroes and has an award winning on board wine bar The Glass House. Olly also shares his finely tuned tastebuds and boundless knowledge in print as wine columnist for the Mail on Sunday and author of three books. He founded Stepping Stone with Dave in 2010 after they met working on Saturday Kitchen.

 

Olly is the world’s biggest James Bond fan and can recognise every Bond soundtrack within 5 minutes. He loves a good beer.

Social Media & Digital Producer

Natalie Mynard

Nat has worked in the broadcast industry for nearly 20 years. Ten of those she spent in TV production on high profile shows including The Big Breakfast, Big Brother and Richard & Judy. As the producer of the original Richard & Judy Book Club Nat helped to create “the Richard and Judy effect” for the publishing industry which saw book sales go into orbit and meant she filmed with top authors around the world. Having set up Stepping Stone with Dave she knows the company inside out and has been key to our growth and development. She now manages our social media and web content.

 

Nat’s proudest achievement is her two daughters, and their ability to wow friends with the fact that their Mum has worked with David Beckham. She bakes a very good cake.

Producer

Laura Georgiades

Laura joined us last year via Saturday Kitchen. However most of her television career to date was spent at ITV’s This Morning, producing their live cookery items, and travelling to some of the world’s most incredible destinations filming for their features team.

 

Cookery is not just confined to the work environment for Laura, she will happily spend hours in the kitchen trying to perfect a crispy crackling. She is an avid tea drinker. And is the third member of the team to have completed the London Marathon.

Zoë Cook

After graduating from Oxford University with a degree in Modern History, Zoë began a career in television working on shows for Channel 4 and ITV. She went on to produce large televised awards shows and series produced Channel 4’s TV Book Club. She joined Stepping Stone as a Producer in 2012 and has a passion for understanding brands and making them look their best.

 

Zoë grew up in Cornwall, and still adores any kind of beach (though ideally golden sandy Cornish ones).

Production Manager

Charlie Daniel

Charlie began her career in television, working across a number of food, comedy and awards shows with the likes of James Martin, Paul Hollywood, Russell Howard and Frank Skinner. She joined the Stepping Stone team earlier this year and has become our organisation extraordinaire.

 

When not compiling her latest spreadsheet, Charlie loves any opportunity to get out in her garden and soak up the sun with a good G&T.

Editor & Director

Mike Prior

Mike spent most of his freelance career editing music videos for a wide variety of artists including Fatboy Slim, Cher Lloyd, Wiley and The Manic Street Preachers to name a few. He moved away from music toward editing and directing a wider variety of online content before taking a full time position with Stepping Stone in January 2015.

 

When not staring at a computer screen he can be found staring at a cinema screen.

Junior Editor / Post Production Coordinator

Megan Parratt

Megan graduated from Ravensbourne with a degree in Editing and Post Production and during the summer of 2012 worked as part of the media presentation team at the London Olympics. Not only are her organisational skills in our edit suites top class but since jumping on board in 2014 she has also brought fresh new creative ideas to the team.

 

She grew up in rural Suffolk but had her heart set on living the city life in London from a young age. Megan’s love of cooking is another major plus as she regularly delights the office with tasty treats.

Junior Editor & Camera Assistant

Stefan Hughes

Stefan joined us after graduating from Ravensbourne in 2014 and is now equally at home in an edit suite and on location. In either scenario he brings heaps of enthusiasm and creativity and is always happy to learn and experiment with new camera kit.

 

He has a passion for travel, surfing, snowboarding, time-lapse photography, meat and coffee, whilst also never shying away from a good sandwich.

Accountant & Company Secretary

Gareth Griffiths

We think it’s fair to say Dave and Gaz have come a long way since they first met at the age of 8 in a Nuneaton primary school. Once out of short trousers and long socks, Gaz worked his way from trainee to Chartered Accountant over an 18-year period in a Warwickshire practice. We were able to lure him down to the big city in 2015. He now deals with all our accounts.

 

Outside of the office he is a keen runner, sports fan and Lake District walker.
