Chance to Dine 2017
This year’s Chance to Dine took place earlier this month. It was our fourth year being involved with cricket charity Chance to Shine’s annual cook off, which takes place in the historic Long Room at Lord’s Cricket Ground.
The famous faces this year taking on the cooking challenge were England cricketers Toby Roland-Jones and Keaton Jennings, former fast-bowler Devon Malcolm, and reigning champion Stuart Broad, who was chasing his hat trick.
First up, was Keaton with a split pea and ham hock soup, Devon followed this with his fiery prawn and crab cocktail. The main course of a herb crusted lamb rack was served up by Toby, and Stuart hopefully named the final dish a ‘hat-trick of desserts’.
As always, Chance to Shine’s co-founder Mark Nicholas was the evening’s host and chef Dhruv Baker was on hand to give some advice to the chefs.
We were there to produce a quick turnaround film of the action from the day for the dinner guests to watch before they cast their votes. It was always a great, entertaining day and the mobile edit worked brilliantly.
At the end of the night it was Toby Roland-Jones who pipped Stuart Broad to the post, pushing him into second place, and ending a remarkable 12 months by being crowned the 2017 Chance to Dine champion.
